What Does this chest X-ray Indicate?

My wife took a chest x-ray. Below is the report. Findings: A 5 mm oval opacity in the left suprahilar region overlapping the posterior left sixth rib. Right lung is clear. A mild thoracolumbar dextroscoliosis. Heart and vessels are normal. Impression: A 5 mm left suprahilar opacity. Differential would include a granuloma or rib lesion. If comparison films are not available, recommend follow up chest x-ray including a slightly apical and lordotic view. Please advise what does it mean.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

According to the report, a lesion that is approximately 1/2 of a cm was seen above the hilum of the lung.
The hilum of the lung is sometimes called the root of the lung and it is the area where the the large blood vessels and airways would be found.

The report stated that they cannot determine if the lesion is actually related to the ribs or a granuloma.
A granuloma is a mass made up of granulation tissue which may form due to infection, inflammation or a foreign substance (not belonging in the body).

Another x ray is recommended if there are no previous x rays to compare to it.

Dextroscoliosis is curving of the spine to the right side.

I hope this helps
